Canada is currently experiencing a multi-jurisdictional measles outbreak, the

largest seen since measles was eliminated in Canada in 1998. Measles is a highly

contagious virus that spreads easily between people, often through the air, and can

cause very serious health consequences in infected individuals. Fortunately, it is also

highly preventable. This national dialogue with faith leaders will be an opportunity to

discuss ways to protect communities from measles and other infectious diseases.
