International Journalism Film Festival

The festival is designed to raise awareness of UN World Press Freedom Day.

This year's WPFD theme is "A Press for the Planet: Journalism in the face of the Environmental Crisis."


Sunday April 28th from 1-4pm at Princess Twin Cinema


Details:

  • Princess Twin Cinema, 46 King St. N. in Waterloo. 

  • The program  consists of a 49-minute documentary followed by a panel discussion. 

  • Film will be Killer Water: The toxic legacy of Canada's oil sands industry for Indigenous communities

  • Panel members: Brodie Fenlon, editor in chief, CBC News; Sally Lehrman, chief executive, The Trust Project; Tim Blackmore, professor, Faculty of Information and Media Studies, Western University. 

  • Panel question: "How can we build a culture of appreciation for quality journalism?”
