Open House Tour of the Toronto Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

February 13th to March 8th, 2025

Plus, an IGR Group Opportunity on February 22, 2025, at 1:45 pm

Temples are a central part of the worship of members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There are currently 189 operating LDS temples worldwide, with another 146 announced or under construction. They consider each temple to be set apart as a special House of God, reserved for the performance of sacred ordinances that have the purposes of strengthening eternal, loving family connections and preparing individuals to live their lives in a manner that exemplifies the highest values of honesty, integrity, faith, sacrifice, service, and love.

As there most significant sacred spaces, once a temple has been dedicated, only Church members in good standing may enter to participate in its services. However, prior to its dedication - or in the case of a rededication after extensive renovations have taken place - the Church provides an opportunity for the general public to visit and view the interior of the building and learn about its sacred purposes.

Originally constructed and dedicated in 1990, the Toronto Ontario Temple has recently undergone a significant renovation and will be rededicated in March of this year. Prior to that - from February 13 to March 8 - the temple is open for visitation by the general public.

However, since slots are filling up fast, a booking has already been made for up to 15 IGR members who would like to attend a tour together on Saturday, February 22, at 1:45 pm. To sign up for this tour, please use this link and complete the Google form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdLsG-qnITtWu7ithQAmEauxHeI9uW8EyGaNOlpRUCMPtFGGQ/viewform?usp=dialog

These tours are not religious services and no religious observance is requested. The tours require no admission fee or donation and have no specific dress code (though comfortable shoes for walking through the building are recommended). Each tour (which includes an informative presentation and self-guided walking tour) last about 45 minutes. Church representatives will be available to answer questions. The temple is wheelchair accessible (however, service animals are not permitted inside the building). The Church asks to be advised of any special accommodations that are needed.
