We have another opportunity to tell the Waterloo region community about the value of strengthening our interfaith bonds and bridges to contribute to peace in this world. We need your help.

The Multicultural Festival is an annual event that takes place every June in Victoria Park, Kitchener. This year, it is on Saturday June 21st and Sunday June 22nd. IGR plans to have a booth there, as usual, and we need you to help send the message of interfaith action and awareness. You can sign up here to take a 2 hour shift at the booth to talk with people as they stop and enquire about IGR. If that sounds intimidating, I assure you, it is not. It is an easy conversation with people who are curious and like to give you their opinions about matters of religion and faith. Much of what you will do is listen and then you may have an opportunity to tell them that the main goal of IGR is to reduce and remove barriers between people of different cultures and religions. We are doing our part to help people know each other better so we can live together in peace.

We will need people to take a shift at the booth on Saturday and Sunday afternoons but we will also need help with:

• transporting materials into the park on Saturday and out of the park on Sunday

• setting up the tables, chairs, canopy, banners and display materials on Saturday morning

• printing enough copies of our brochure to hand out

• packing up everything after 5 pm on Sunday

If you want to be a part of this important event in IGR’s annual efforts, please sign up now. If you have questions, let us know. Send your e-mail message to: interfaithgrandriver@gmail.com
